Huffington Post "The Art of Disaster by Ryan McIntosh"

Ryan McIntosh’s new gallery show, “Relentless Envy,” opened at Stone Malone Gallery on Friday, featuring a multimedia installation of disquieting works exploring the experience of disasters through photography, survival imagery, and artifacts from the World Trade Center. The show runs June 11-23, at 7619 1/2 Melrose Ave., in Los Angeles.

McIntosh explains, “It’s a rather dark and uneasy show about how fears and insecurities push artistic creativity. Contained within the show are numerous artifacts from the 9/11 World Trade Center, along with a sculpture that continuously burns coal that was recovered from the 1912 Titanic shipwreck.”
